Gem Stone Farm South - Ocala
Sunday, January 29, 2012 at 3:09PM Last week the horses arrived well on Monday. On Tuesday, Max and Aladdin went to the Sanctuary for swimming and Koda did his aqua tread. The other horses spent some time lunging in the pessoa in the field. Wednesday was a rain day. Thursday I flatted everyone and got them used to being outside again. They were happy and pretty fresh! Payton got some good jump schools in over the weekend. Koda and Al are working on their conditioning on the slopes and in the field over the weekend. All the horses are loving all the turn out time. They are actually hanging out at the fence staring at me right now wanting to come in. Silly horses. It's beautiful out!
This Tuesday Payton, Max and Prince went over to the show. They showed on Wed and Thursday. It's been a long time for all of us since we have been in the show ring. They were all very good and settled in nicely. Koda, Al and Max had Tuesday at the Sanctuary again for their water conditioning. It was really hot until last night. We had some rain and today is 70 and breezy. Koda came over to the show on Thursday. I flatted him in the grand prix ring. He thought that was really cool. Prince and Payton have a few well deserved days off over this weekend. They are tired from the showing and the heat and all the preparatory training last weekend. Al and Koda had a nice work in the field today and worked on poles and caveletti. Same plan for the rest of the weekend.
Lagonda and Walter had a great premier in Ocala during pre-circuit, earning ribbons in the pre-green hunter and green working hunter, respectively. Peron was happy to return to the show grounds and showed a bit in both the hunter and jumper rings impressively.
Back to the show on Tuesday. Looking forward to Collin, Tyson and Leo's arrival on Wednesday and the Shaves and Robbins on Thursday!!
